Dear Professionals,
Welcome to my portfolio website. Thank you for your visit! I look forward to sharing my work and hearing your thoughts.
I’ve shared my personal story and the research I’m currently working on, which I believe you’ll find intriguing.
Please take a look at my crowdfund; it will make both my tactile art and my artistic research possible! A small ecosystem in which I can self-finance the research on the identity of the artist.
Yours faithfully,
Sic

Mission
I listen to understand who you are.
I create art for people living under the curse of prejudice, so that they can find the strength to distance themselves from that false image and express their own identity with full conviction.
Creations

Research
My research investigates identity, time, and context. I work through philosophical questions by developing conceptual models.

Collage/Assemblage
I create sculptural and spatial installations that make complex ideas physically graspable. My vivid images are an expression of the silver lines life gave me.
.

Social Encounters
As I often say: every disorder is a strength, and every strength is a disorder. I support people in their recovery and/or self-discovery process and help them find ways to make life livable (again).
What people are saying
Geert Verbeke“No, I don’t want to get them, no. But I do want to buy them. Where is my curator?”
Kemzeke, BE
Marjolein Metsers“Your work plays with repetition and symmetry by arranging a series of rectangular shapes in contrasting colours. The chosen hues-warm ochres and browns combined with cool blues and purple accents- create a dynamic balance between tranquillity and energy. The layered composition draws the eye to the centre, creating an optical effect of depth. The minimalist design emphasises precision and rhythm, inviting us to experience the power of simplicity and structure.”
Hulst, NL

The ‘Spiral Time Model’
The spiral time model merges linear progression with cyclical recurrence, positioning past, present, and future as adjacent rather than distant. This structure enables forms of influence, memory, and intergenerational connection that linear time cannot accommodate. It provides a framework for understanding identity as a dynamic process shaped by temporal proximity rather than temporal separation.
About Sicco/Cisco
My research investigates identity, time, and context. I work through philosophical questions by developing conceptual models, most notably the Spiral Time Model, a fourth‑ dimensional way of understanding how past, present, and future interact: time as a whole. My writing translates this research into accessible language, offering frameworks that help people rethink identity, belonging, and the structures that shape our lives. Research is my medium; creating is how I share its clarity.
Becoming a Human Rights Activist
Assigned female at birth, I chose the Dutch name ‘Sicco’ around aight. As I introduced myself as Sicco, family members immediately taught me about our ancestor, Sicco Roorda van Eysinga. I knew instantly that the name Sicco came with great responsibility, so I promised to make people act kinder to each other, because they were acting so mean, unintentionally. Growing up as a human rights activist, I delved into a small variety of topics. During my adolescence, I’ve been questioning the treaty ‘War on Drugs’ out loud, which got me into a bit of trouble… (death threats because my comments threatened to take away a certain income somewhere). After surviving the attack of a serial killer and overcoming memoryloss, I specialised in (mental) recovery as well, showing resilience and hope for others facing struggles.
